Advice for the Newly Arrived
Welcome, small one. You arrive
knowing nothing of Tuesdays, taxes,
or how to spell your own name —
and yet within one hour
you taught four adults to whisper,
two to cry, and one
(your father) to dance very, very slowly.
Stay exactly this powerful.
