Lyric Poem · Death & Loss
Spirit of Plato
FROM THE GREEK.
Eagle! why soarest thou above that tomb?
To what sublime and star-ypaven home
Floatest thou? —
I am the image of swift Plato's spirit,
Ascending heaven; Athens doth inherit
His corpse below.
